This dazzling 0.67ct old transitional cut GIA certified diamond has bright white E color, a completely eye clean appearance, lively sparkle, and vivid fire. Bridging the gap between old cuts and modern round brilliants, old transitional cut diamonds were produced for a very short period of time and are exceptionally rare. Cut entirely by hand in the late 1920’s to 1940’s, this diamond is charmingly vintage, completely unique, and guaranteed to be 100% conflict free! It is a classic Transitional cut with the sought after checkerboard pattern! Measuring 5.7-5.8mm in diameter, the diamond has a great spread and a larger than typical look for its weight! It is comparable in appearance to a typical old cut diamond of over ¾ carats! Already imbued with life and longevity, this diamond will make an engagement or right hand ring that is not only eye-catching and stunningly beautiful but also full of depth and history. The diamond is certified by GIA. Graded SI1 for clarity under GIA’s rigorous standards, the diamond is 100% eye clean! The few inclusions are tiny, much too small to see with the naked eye. Graded E for color, the diamond is bright white and colorless. It is just a single very very subtle shade away from perfect D color! This is a high quality diamond with an excellent combination of color, clarity, and provenance! As an old transitional cut, the diamond has old style facets and bold sparkle similar to an old European cut but with a smaller culet and proportions similar to modern standards. It absolutely retains the unique charm of a hand cut stone with big, bold sparkle and vivid fire! Because the diamond was cut during a period when diamond cutters were experimenting with bigger tables and shorter crowns, the diamond has dimensions similar to a modern round. Hence GIA’s formula determined it to be a round brilliant cut. However, these shortcomings in GIA’s formula do not reflect the fact that this is a truly old diamond with old style faceting, a small open culet, and flower pattern on the pavilion. For this reason, GIA graded the cut against round brilliant cut standards, and the diamond received a cut grade which does indicate how much sparkle this diamond has! The diamond has a truly outstanding play of light with phenomenal brilliance and fire, much better than GIA’s grade implies (since it is being graded against a different cut). The appearance is fantastic and overall, this high quality diamond is very bright with dazzling sparkle! This diamond is being sold loose, but it can be mounted upon request. CUSTOM DESIGN
Step 1: Send us a photo or drawing of your perfect ring or piece of jewelry.
Step 2: We will provide you a full detailed estimate to meet your specific requests.
Step 3: We re-create the piece via CAD to be approved by you. We send you your choice of the design or the physical wax model. We will perform as many revisions to the CAD design as you request (within reason) until you are completely satisfied.
Step 4: Once the design is approved, we will proceed to manufacture the piece until completion. We will send you photos of the finished product for approval. Though a small deposit is asked for to begin work, final payment is required only after final job approval.
