    These mallets (strikers, goalies, etc.)
    DO NOT
    have felt on the bottoms.  These have the super smooth base for fast slick action.  Generally, cheap mallets have felt bottoms to cover up the fact that they are hollow.  Problem with the felt bottoms is that when the felt gets dirty, they begin to scratch your play surface over time.
