This item is a sacred catlinite horse effigy pipe with ash stem. This pipe is made from solid catlinite from Pipestone National Monument in Pipestone, MN. Each pipe is hand made and is buffed and polished with beeswax.
This pipe was made by Alan Monroe, a fifth generation pipe maker enrolled in the Oglala Lakota Sioux tribe from the Black Hills of South Dakota. Each pipe is signed by Alan Monroe.
