    Description

Northwest coast cedar rattle.  This rattle is made of cedar and the carving represents a bear. The inlay is made of abalone and the hair is horse hair. This piece has a great patina and looks to have been used. The wrap is made of sinew. The rattle is signed G. Morrison in 2 places. One signed in pen and the other on the bottom of the handle scratched in. I purchased this quite a few years ago from a dealer in Seattle Wa. and have had it in my collection since. This is an authentic native made piece, not one of the many copies seen on ebay that are made of exotic hardwood. The condition is very good.  There is a small hairline crack running up the handle. The rattle is 11" long by 4"  wide at the widest point. Hard to find rare piece!
