Ben F. Gregory (1890-1974) was a follower of the Front drive. In 1920, together with William H. Craun, he founded the Gregory-Craun Motor Company in Kansas City, Kansas in Missouri. There, in 1920, he presented a prototype here. A few race car Followed. In 1921, he presented a vehicle at the Kansas City Automobile Show.
At the beginning of 1922 it was renamed The Front Drive Motor Company. In cooperation with the O. E. Szekely Company, vehicles have now been manufactured. The brand name was Gregory. Production ended in 1922. A total of between 10 and 30 vehicles were produced.
The special feature of the vehicles was the front-wheel drive. The prototype from 1920 was based on a chassis from Scripps-Booth.
One of the race cars had a Flying engine from the Curtiss Aeroplane and Motor Companythe Curtiss OX-5. Another received a V8 engine from Hispano-Suiza.
The production vehicles had a four-cylinder engine with 22 Ps achievement. The chassis had 279 cm wheelbase. The only structure was an open Roadster with two seats. The new price was 1550 US dollar.
