Description
Offered here are three different Boy Scouts of America (BSA) cards. The cards themselves are not especially interesting, as much as WHERE they were issued. All three are from "Three Sands, Oklahoma." "Three Sands" or "3 Sands" was an oil field "boom town" in the 1920's. It was located near Tonkawa & Perry, OK. It seems the oil ran out in the 1940's, and it is now deserted and desolate, and is LITERALLY classified as a "Ghost Town" - with no population, and only remnants of buildings and dilapitating equipment. (If you're not familiar with Three Sands, Okla., I encourage you to "look it up"!) One card was issued in 1942, when the member was "Officially Certified As A First Class Scout". The other two cards were for achievement, or merit badge awards. One is marked: "Merit Badge in Farm Layout", the other is marked: "Merit Badge in Cooking - Marksmanship." (Sorry - I do NOT have the actual cloth Merit Badges - just these cards.) Each card measures 3 by 5 inches. They are in FAIR to GOOD condition, with some creases. These cards are guaranteed to be old & original - issued in the 1940's - or your money back.I am here to help you with any questions!!!
