    Description

This a very rare hand made and woven 100% wool purse.clutch made by the Chimayo Indians . They are.were well known for their exquisite weaving and amazing patterns of rugs, blankets, clutches/purses . This particular one is very rare in that it bears a silver medal/emblem with a "swastika" mark on it, The swastika did not have the same meanings as Hitlers swastikas, the Natives had been usng such in their items for 100;s of years as a sacred symbol. It was in 1940 that the Native American council had made a decision to remove it from any further works as it had been desecrated. So to find an old item that bares the symbol makes it that much more collectible,
This bag is a very unique and detailed pattern, it is beautiful. The work that does into this is just amazing, it is all lined in what feels like silk but could be rayon, zippered pocket inside works fine and has plenty of extra room, folds over nicely and has a little clutch handle on backside to use it,,  Measures 9x8,, when open the height is 12"
Truly a beautiful piece, I have seen newer ones but there is no comparison to this one,
