    Pierre Turin is the best known and most highly regarded French Art Deco medalist.
    This bronze medal was issued in 1941.  The face has the bust of Marshall Philippe Petain who had been the French military hero of World World I and became the Head of State for Vichy France which governed the south of France in collaboration with the Nazis who governed directly the north.
